Hello! My name is Mimi and I'm a cinematographer, 1st AC, and travel junkie.
I started my career as a freelance writer for feminist film publications while pursuing a degree in Film Studies and Professional Writing at Michigan State University. A few of the publications I wrote for were agnés films, Women in Hollywood, Directed By Women, and Made in Shoreditch Magazine. While completing my degree, I also had the opportunity to attend the 72nd Cannes Film Festival and the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival, where I interned for The Hollywood Reporter.
Shortly after graduating, I moved to Paris, France where I interned for and then worked with the feminist
documentary filmmaker Elena Rossini.
In 2022 a position with the Gretchen
Whitmer For Governor campaign brought
me back to the US, where I briefly worked
as her team's multimedia producer, creating video and photo content for
her social media.
I left that position, as well as a position as Senior Video Editor for the
influencer marketing agency Outloud Media, to focus on filmmaking
as a freelancer full-time; which has brought me to where I am now
as a cinematographer, camera operator, and 1st AC in Grand Rapids, MI.
I primarily work commercial gigs and do a handful of narrative and documentary work.
Some of the clients I've worked with include L'Oréal Paris, Spotify, Ford,
GM, Bissell, Amway, Wahl, and Steelcase.
